Leave it to a Democrat (Giffords), who decried the inhumanity of the Governor of Arizona when she enforced a Federal Law (that the Feds weren’t enforcing), to be among the first to praise Obama for ‘hearing our message’, by committing a whopping 1,200 National Guard troops to the U.S. – Mexico border. I wonder what the tipping point was for Obama. Maybe it was seeing Rep. Baca of California (who had ‘No To Arizona’s Immigration Law’ bracelets made) with Steney Hoyer, looking like dolts holding up their banded wrists for all to see; even Pelosi had one on.

I wonder how Gibbs will explain the Administration’s changing it’s strategy at the next White House briefing. No doubt it has something to do with Obama finally reading the Arizona Law… I’m picturing it now… nope – can’t see it.

This is pretty depressing. According to Pew Research’s latest political rhetoric test, more Americans reported positive feelings for “progressive” than “capitalism.”

Meanwhile, feelings toward “socialism” are mostly negative, but nearly one-in-three Americans (who has apparently never taken a history class in their life) maintains a positive opinion of it. Yay, Stalin!

Silver lining: conservatives’ beloved “states” rights” and “family values” are still popular

On Saturday, May 15th, at Bagram Military Detention center in Afghanistan, some 40 miles North of Kabul, before a gathering of Afghan leaders and eleven former prisoners, special guest, U.S. Marine Lt. Gen. John R. Allen; the number two official at Central Command in Florida, spoke. As the guests munched on chocolate cake and fresh fruit, they listened to a contrite apology given by Allen. “If we detained you unfairly, I am sorry.” Allen told the men. “I hope this is a good day for you to return to your families.”

Apparently it wasn’t a good day for some of the men to return home. Haji Gulam Farouq, who spent three years in Bagram Detention Center, was finally getting a chance to speak his mind to his American captors; and who better than Lt. Gen. Allen? Farouq, who was accused of aiding Taliban insurgents, said he was afraid that he was ‘forever tarnished as a suspect’ who could be ‘scooped up again at any time.’ He said, “I’m not happy to go home. I was a muhjadeen commander. It didn’t make sense for me to be against this government.”

I’m not sure if Farouq was addressing the U.S. government or the Afghan government there, but no doubt he got extra cake for ‘speaking his mind’ to Lt. General Allen.

As Obama continues showing the world that the United States is nothing special, and our military isn’t all that great, he denigrates the troops who risked, and possibly gave their lives, capturing these prisoners. By the way, are there any military officials holding boxes of chocolates and baskets of fresh fruit; contrite apologies ready, for uniformed men and women who may be found innocent of prisoner abuse charges, or firing their weapon in self defense instead of making sure the target is a terrorist?

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan, May 19, 2010: ‘Attack at Bagram Leaves Several Insurgents Dead’ About a dozen insurgents were killed here today during an attack that killed a U.S. contractor and wounded nine service members. Two of the nine wounded service members have returned to duty, and all others were in stable condition, officials said. The name of the contractor killed in the attack is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification. The attack on the sprawling air base’s perimeter included rockets, small arms and grenades. Four of the insurgents killed were intended suicide bombers, officials said.”Though it is clear the enemy intended a spectacular event, … they were unable to breach the perimeter and unable to detonate their suicide vests,” said Army Lt. Col. Clarence Count Jr., a spokesman for Combined Joint Task Force 82 and Regional Command East. “The quick defensive reaction by the Bagram security forces likely saved a lot of lives.” www.dod.gov

*Maybe these guys could train Napolitano, Gates, Holder and Airport Security on how to treat terrorism defensively. Not the ones who attempted self-detonation (we must’ve killed the top suicide -bomb- maker, whose replacement doesn’t grasp the concept); the U.S. Military Security Forces*

Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, speaking on behalf of the Obama Administration, announced to the world the number of nuclear weapons the U.S. has.
Federal Law; Section 8 USC 1324 A person commits a federal felony when he: (1) assists an alien whom he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him with employment, (2)encourages that alien to remain in the U.S., by referring him to an employer, by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions. It is a violation of law for any person to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection in any place, including any building or means of transportation, any alien who is in the United States in violation of law. Harboring means any conduct that tends to substantially facilitate an alien to remain in the U.S. illegally. The sheltering need not be clandestine. This provision includes harboring an alien who entered the U.S. legally, but has since lost his legal status. Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime.

*Barack Obama’s aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned. The campaign said he last heard from her about two years ago when she called saying she was in Boston, but he did not see her there.

*‘I knew one person in New York, a guy named Sadik whom I’d met in L.A., but he’d told me that he worked all night at a bar somewhere. He greeted me on the street, a short, well-built Pakistani who had come to New York from London two years earlier and found his caustic wit and unabashed desire to make money perfectly pitched to the city’s mood. He had overstayed his tourist visa and now made a living in New York’s high-turnover, illegal immigrant workforce waiting on tables.’ ‘Dreams of My Father’ Barack Obama

The will of the people: “What’s misguided, Mr. Obama, is the federal government’s ongoing refusal to enforce the laws that are already on the books…parts of it are word for word the same as the federal statutes, which continue to be all but ignored.” CNN’s Jack Cafferty May 3, 2010. This was in response to Obama saying Arizona was “misguided” in their Immigration Law.

Barack Obama presented himself as a uniter. To some he is a great orator – I don’t hear it. To some he is the ‘change’ America needs – I don’t see it. To this proud American, President Obama came to divide and conquer. I do hear Obama’s rhetoric, and I do see Obama conquering; the American people. While disasters, near disasters, and outright tragedies go on in this world, one need only keep this in mind: Come 2012 we will have the power to vote out the worst (and definitely man made) disaster to ever hit America.

I know everything is a photo op for a politician (sorry all you starry eyed Obamites – he is one), but it makes me sick everytime. More nauseating than that though is the description of these events by the media. I’m wondering if Obama was able to keep his talk with the mourning families strictly to his condolences and thanks, or did he let slip the underlying Obamantra, “You know, I inherited this mess from Bush…”

When Obama arrived back at the White House the scene was laid out eloquently, again by Mr. Feller (who I believe to really be romance novelist Nora Roberts); ‘He walked inside, alone.’ Later, speaking softly and somewhat haltingly, Obama said losses such as these are “something I think about each and every day.” Really Mr. President? There are only 24 hours in a day, and inbetween coming up with cutsie quotes during those intense 3 hour long meetings over the fate of 68,000 troops (I got the biggest chuckle out of ‘McChrystal Light’ – I mean wow! Hilarious!), and making sure to obscure my view of the television as often as possible, how do you do it? Well, no need to ask – he is Obama.

This event like so many before will be portrayed as a reason Obama needs more mulling time over Afghanistan. I’m wondering if on his ‘lonely walk across the South Lawn’ after returning from Dover, if he was thinking about the troops and their commanders still fighting (yes, that is what goes on in a war) on the ground in Afghanistan; or U.S. DEA agents whose mission it was to hold back a tsunami of narcotics with a Dixie cup. Was he agonizing over the fact that every minute he does not make a decision about sending more troops or not, are akin to hours and days spent by the troops in Afghanistan waiting to find out if they will be the next to come home. Knowing the likely two choices will be either in a flag-draped coffin, or as part of a failed war because this administration is only interested in actually proving (apparantly no matter the cost) that we can turn the Taliban into peace loving ‘folks’.

The Obama administration has been on high alert with two key anniversaries which were declared National Days of Remembrance by the president, and will be commemerated here in D.C. and New York. First is the one-year anniversary of a failed ‘Tea Party’ uprising which sent many once law abiding citizens into exile. This Day of Remembrance, to be held at the Nation’s Capitol will be a special day for Obama as thousands of school children will sing to the commander, and the ever-growing Civil Patrol will march while the once great U.S. Naval band plays the new National Anthem. Next will be the celebratory 60th anniversary of communism in China. Held in New York, the highlight will be the lighting of the Empire State Building in yellow, red, and black – a show of understanding and comradship from the Obama administration to the Chinese government. The following day chosen citizen volunteers will ceremoniously remove reminders of September 11th, 2001 from the site of the former World Trade Center. New CNN polls have shown that people are more in agreement now with the president that, “It is time to forget tragic reminders of what capitalism can do. Time to forget the evil America wrought as a result of it’s greed and pursuit of money.” By next year the Obama administration hopes to have their proposed ‘People’s Garden’ well under way where the Twin Towers once stood. Family members of those who died because of the drastic, but necessary actions of the Muslim Freedom Fighters have been largely silent after the exoneration and citizenship given to thirteen of the thirteen accused MFF accomplices by the Supreme Court.

Earlier this week Fox and the White House traded sharp words, with Fox condemning Obama’s “brutal crackdown” following the anti-government demonstrations, and it’s harsh rule over conservative media, which has made some citizens afraid to watch or read anything that may reflect negatively on the current administration. The White House lashed back, saying those accusations were “sheer lies,” and even went so far as to lodge a complaint with the U.N. Embassy after a spokesman for Fox News voiced concern over repression of the people, and appealed for renewed talks between both sides. The administration continues to be dogged by the economic crisis battering the United States, with nearly all in congress poised to approve a national budget for the coming year that boosts government spending another 25 percent. Obama expressed confidence that the U.S. could emerge from its slump “at an early date” and said the government is ready to expand its $586 billion dollar Stimulus Plan Part III to boost growth, which did not happen with the first two stimulus plans. Otherwise no new measures were announced and the congress, which serves mainly to rubber-stamp decisions already made by the president, passed no new legislation. Amid rising unemployment and fears over social unrest, this year’s legislative session saw Obama more intent than ever on projecting an image of unity and control. Renewed calls for political reform from inside and outside the country and the sensitive political anniversaries also raised the administration’s gaurd against dissent. - AP (Autonomous Press) *denotes an Autonomous alternative idiom* See color-coded & chronologically listed primary words below to view article as seen in The Huffington Post. www.huffingtonpost.com

BRENNAN LINSLEY : ASSOCIATED PRESS: Monday, October 5, 2009 5:45 AM: WASHINGTON – “Afghanistan is not in imminent danger of falling to the Taliban”, President Barack Obama’s national security adviser said yesterday. He downplayed fears that the insurgency could set up a renewed sanctuary for al-Qaida. Retired Gen. James Jones’ comments came hours after militant forces overwhelmed U.S. troops at two outposts near the Pakistan border, killing eight Americans, and amid growing government fissures over whether to send thousands of additional forces into the fight. It was the heaviest U.S. loss of life in a single battle since July 2008, when nine American soldiers were killed in a raid on an outpost in Wanat in the same province, Nuristan. Obama’s senior advisers are set to meet twice this week to debate the administration’s evolving Afghan strategy, juggling political pressure from the left to scale back combat troops with an urgent call from military commanders to add forces to secure the country and enable government and economic-development advancements.

It’s great that the president is carefully thinking about what to do in Afghanistan…. It’s great that he knows much more then our troops and the generals on the ground know… It’s great to have people like Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post expound on how General McChrystal ”has no business conducting a public campaign to build support for his preferred option, which is to send tens of thousands more troops into a country once called ‘the graveyard of empires’ “. No, the only real job McChrystal and all the other generals under Obama “have to do is to shut up and salute”, according to Robinson. He then goes on to say that he believes that when James Jones said on CNN that McChrystal should use the chain of command for troop requests, he was using ‘Pentagon – speak’ which when translated means, “Put a sock in it Jim.” The only thing I can say to that anti-military rhetoric is take a look out your window Mr. Robinson. See any armed militia running around? Hear any bombs dropping close by? Worried about federal police breaking down your door and confiscating your computer? Late to get in line to get food with your government coupons? No? Now why is that?

Mr. President, stop practicing your “I don’t deserve this, but…” speech coming up in December. Make a decision for our troops in Afghanistan- actually focus on what a President should focus on. Stay off the Late Show, cut out trips abroad trying to get the Olympics or anything else like it here, cancel attending gala events for special interest groups, quit acting like Healthcare Reform is what is going to make or break this country. You got the job – NOW DO SOMETHING

www.foxnews.com

www.washingtonpost.com

“Ideally, it’s best for military advice to come up through the chain of command,” Jones said. The president should be presented with options, not just one “fait accompli,” Jones told CBS moderator Bob Schieffer.

The highly visible debate about what to do in Afghanistan, which included a multi-hour session at the White House last week, prompted a divided reaction among Senators. On CNN, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said, “I’m so pleased we have a president who isn’t just going to rush forward.”

They do not give explicit recommendations. October: Nobel Peace Prize Laureates are chosen through a majority vote. This decision is final and without appeal. Names of the Laureate’s are announced. December: Nobel Peace Prize Laureates receive their prize. The ceremony takes place Dec. 10th in Oslo, Norway. The prize consists of a Nobel Medal and Diploma, and a document confirming the prize amount. All other Nobel Prize Ceremonies are held in Stockholm, Sweden.

The statutes of the Nobel Foundation restrict disclosure of information about the nominations, whether publicly or privately, for 50 years. This restriction concerns the nominees and nominators, as well as investigations and opinions related to awarding the prize.

www.nobelprize.org

While this is a great honor for anyone receiving it, I am truly baffled at this selection. I was hoping that Obama would humbly decline; acknowledging that he has done nothing to qualify for the Nobel. Instead, there he stood rambling on about how he would accept it only ‘..as a call to action by the American people!‘ We had all better band together and start doing something that will make it appear our president does deserve this prize! (Why am I thinking about The Emporer’s New Clothes’ right now?) I’m adding the Nobel Committee to the Obama Administration of Audacious Idiots. I think someone should write a sequel to ‘The Audacity Of Hope’, and title it ‘The Audacity Of Hope II: The plight of America following the scourge of The Obama Administration’

I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator.
Barack Obama
From ‘Time’ magazine June 2005.

We have real enemies in the world. These enemies must be found. They must be pursued and they must be defeated.
Barack Obama
Keynote speech to Democratic National Convention, July 2004.

I don’t oppose all wars. What I am opposed to is a dumb war. What I am opposed to is a rash war.
Barack Obama

When we think of the major threats to our national security, the first to come to mind are nuclear proliferation, rogue states and global terrorism. But another kind of threat lurks beyond our shores, one from nature, not humans – an avian flu pandemic.
Barack Obama

You know, my faith is one that admits some doubt.
