While Washington Dithers (A Challenge To All Voters)

On any given day turn in the TV, radio, or open a newspaper and we are constantly bombarded with politicians and pundits giving their 2 cents on the situation America finds itself in. These people, who have diverse ideas of what the ideal America is, spewing the same B/S rhetoric all the while living in a world many of us could only dream of. I see it everyday as these “important” people play the blame game as the good people lose their jobs and homes.

As I watch I wonder what these people are truly thinking. Do they care? Are they doing all they can to fix this mess they “inherited’? The more I wonder the more I realize most of these people could care less about you or me. In fact, I would wager that if you didn’t vote for them or hold a different view politically they care even less.

Why should they care most I am sure have not dealt with the life many of us face. You know the life, wondering where the next rent or mortgage payment is going to come from. Or days spent waiting in the unemployment or welfare office to be seen. Or having to sell a cherished item to ensure they could pay the rent or buy some food for the family?

Have they had their kids ask them “when are we moving into our own house”. Watched as the tears streamed down the faces of their family as they pulled out the last of the boxes from the house they where evicted from? Waited for assistance at a local facility only to be turned away do to the overwhelming response of needy people.

Sadly, from my point of view our elected officials do not see our side. Sure they might have had hardships in life but it also seems these people far removed from those hardships and what many Americans are going through. They do not and cannot understand the life many have been forced to live do to this “inherited mess” left by administrations past. They seem to instead use their time fighting and bickering amongst one another. Living it up down in D.C. as you and I are forced to feel the whole brunt of the mess we all have “inherited”.

Americans need to wake up to where we are heading while Washington dithers. While Washington dithers many of us are unemployed. While Washington dither more and more people are losing their unemployment benefits. While Washington dithers more and more families are losing their homes. While Washington dithers you and I being made the fools.

My challenge to everyone is this. Instead of voting for the party vote for the person. Check the job performance of the incumbents or the platform of the challengers. Look at all the candidates stand for not just the stuff that is shoved in our faces via the media. For once try and vote for substance/and performance instead of voting for the “D”, “R”, or “I” behind the name. Become aware of the people we put into Washington to much is at stake not to. We need people who care and will do what is right in Washington, not people only concerned about winning the next election. As a recently evicted and unemployed American I’ll remember this come November, will you?

Attorney General Eric Holder Trying Out For Next Years ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Isn’t it great watching the Attorney General squirm in his seat as he dances around the words “Radical Islam” as if was trying out for next years Dancing with the Stars?

Somehow I have my doubt that if any or all of these kooky Islamist attacks where in fact done by 40-something white males he would refrain from using words like “right wing extremist” or “Tea Baggers”.

This in my opinion shows just how cowardly the current administration is and leaves little doubt why our enemy, Radical Islam, has attacked us three times in the past six months. Not to mention the fact that this cowardice must surely embolden Radical Islam.

Luck and ineptness by the Islamists saved us from two of the three attacks. One must wonder how long that luck will last. And maybe just maybe the current administration needs to step up to the plate and handle this mess.

Thanks Mr. Holder for showing just how gutless and ineffective this administration is – you do us all a service.

Thank Goodness a Courageous Restraint Medal is Being Proposed

When I first heard of the possibility of a medal for “courageous restraint”, I wondered when I would get mine. God only knows how many times I had to restrain myself from telling off that one “Joe” who always stood in front of me at the PX or the chow hall.

Anyone who has served knows the guy. The guy who tells the unbelievable war stories. The ones that start out with ” It was me, my .50 cal, and a couple hundred rounds”. The guy who never shuts up and makes an already long and excruciating wait even more so. Anyone deserves a medal for sitting through that and either not calling B/S or not decking the blowhard.

Sadly the medal is in fact not for that. Instead there has been discussions in the military circle about awarding the aforementioned medal for “holding fire to save civilian lives”.

First off, do the leaders of the military honestly feel as if our troops are a blood thirsty lot hell bent on killing and maiming civilians at the drop of a hat. Seriously, we are not the bad guys. I am sure most if not all civilian casualties taken are caused by some crazy Islamist hanging out in a crowd of “innocents”. I’ll also state that most troops would rather not engage said kook while these civilians are present. But given the circumstances and the enemy we are fighting our troops have very little choice but to sometimes fight in crowds.

Next don’t those proposing this understand that the ROE as it stands is stifling enough. Now they want to reward soldiers for “holding fire to save civilian lives”. I as many would say limiting collateral damage is important for the mission. But the idea of rewarding combat troops in such a way seems a bit off. This award seems more fitting for a police or peace keeping force. Not a force designed for war.

Finally, I agree 100% with this Veterans of Foreign Wars Spokesman when he states:

A spokesman for the 2.2 million-member Veterans of Foreign Wars, the nation’s largest group of combat veterans, thinks the award would cause confusion among the ranks and send a bad signal.

“The self-protections built into the rules of engagement are clear, and the decision to return fire must be made instantly based on training and the threat,” said Joe Davis, a spokesman for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. “The enemy already hides among noncombatants, and targets them, too. The creation of such an award will only embolden their actions and put more American and noncombatant lives in jeopardy. Let’s not rush to create something that no one wants to present posthumously.”

I wonder how many leaders are prepared to give this award posthumously?

Oh Boy! A Naval Ship Named After John Murtha! Well, At Least Nancy Is Happy

Here is a shout out to my brothers and sisters who have served or do serve in the Navy.

It appears the Department of the Navy in their infinite wisdom have decided to name a ship, LPD 26, after the late and not so great Democratic Congressman from Pennsylvania, John Murtha. The ship is reported to be a 10th San Antonio Class Amphibious Transport vessel, which holds a crew of 360 and can carry 700 fully equipped Marines.

As many might guess the Democrats are super duper excited, while those of us with some long term memory and something called common sense are set aback by this decision. Actually let me rephrase this you see Democrats remember his service as a Marine during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. But somehow forget the shady dealings he has done in the past. And although the Dems do not remember we won’t forget his opposition to the Iraq War and his false accusations about Marines in Iraq.

Apparently House Speaker and Wicked Witch of the West Nancy Pelosi is pretty stoked. Talking about “our dear Jack” she stated:

“Whether on the battlefield, or on the bedside, he thanked them for their courage, listened to their concerns, and asked them for comment — and he answered their needs, and responded to their calls, whether it was for body armor, up-armored vehicles… radios, you name it,” Pelosi said. “In those minutes [together], he bonded with them especially because he would share his own personal military service with them, and cared for them as a father. They knew it, and they returned his respect.”

Sure Nancy, he really cared when he spoke of how Marines where murderers even before they went to court. Listen to what “our dear Jack” had to say. How did that go for “Jack” anyways?

Finally the Department of the Navy or better yet Ray Mabus needs to consider if someone so willing to throw our troops under the bus for political capital truly deserve to have a ship named after him?

At some point someone should recognize not only the alleged good he has done but the bad and take all of it consideration.

Our men and women serving in the Navy deserve better than this and naming LPD 26 after Murtha. In my opinion and the opinion of many others this is a disservice to all who serve in the Navy and those who will be chosen to serve on the ship.

Are the Anti-Fatty Fun Police Taking the Happy From the Happy Meal?

Is there anyone fed up with the nanny state antics of the few?

Now there are some do-gooders in Santa Clara, California looking out for the kids by trying to ban toys from McDonalds Happy Meals (or any meal with over 485 calories, 600 mg of salt, or high amounts of sugar or fat which could affect a good number of food chains). The bottom line here is they feel the cheap little toy inside some how promotes obesity in children.

So imagine if you would taking little Missy and Junior out for a trip to the local McDonalds. As you enter facility you notice instead of the el cheapo toy display always present at the front of the restaurant you notice a picture of that creepy clown with a jump rope or on a bike. As your kids search in vain for the display that always seems to have different toys than the ones offered by the staff their tear filled eyes look up at you. “Dad/Mom where are the toys?” Missy asks. “You know the ones you step on and break or the dog chokes on?” Little Junior adds. Sadly you exclaim, “No more toys in Happy Meals here, The anti-fatty fun police made sure of that. But Hippy Hals Tofu Shack has toys with their Happy Hippy meals.” A little dismayed and a bit confused Missy and Junior look to one another, then back to you and both say, “Ewww no way Dad/Mom. We guess we will just have a Large Double Quarter Pounder w/Cheese meal hold the onions and chocolate shake to wash it down.” “Nice choice kids” you think to yourself “Take that do-gooders”.

Now what is the moral of the story here? There really isn’t one. The point being made here is that as a parent, I feel it is not the governments place to tell a person how to raise their children. Taking away these toys probably won’t stop kids from getting fat, in fact as the above story eludes too, it could cause kids to get fatter. My opinion is this and has always been this, let the parents choose what is best for their children. Because contrary to what the government, MSM, and the many do-gooders might believe most parent actually care for and about their offspring. In fact I would even go so far as to say that in this day and age most parents do not give their children a diet of Sugar Puffs for breakfast, Mickey D’s for lunch, and KFC for dinner. In other words, there is enough education out there that most parents know that the aforementioned meal plan is not in their child’s best interest.

Now before I get the inevitable “blah blah blah Childhood obesity blah”. Let me first say this, I realize that there is a problem. But to take this stuff to the extremes they have been pushing is bordering on turning the good old US of A into a nanny state. Most Americans I am sure have very little issue with educating our children on what to eat and proper exorcise. But at the rate the country is going, it won’t be long until husky children are sent to fat camp (if it is not already being done). In fact it won’t be long until we all forced to eat 200 calorie composed of some disgusting tofu product. At some point people need to stand up and say enough is enough. Children are children true. They will eat what they think tastes good and go to the places that have the coolest “el cheapo” toys, but we as the parents also reserve the right to say “Not today kids we are eating Mom’s tofu and asparagus surprise tonight, bon appetite.”

Patrick Kennedy Goes Nuts Over The Media (by Ballew)

Representative Patrick Kennedy in a firey speech went nuts over the media and their choice of what to cover. In a rage he went from a pretty coherent argument on Afghanistan into an incoherent attack on the media and coverage of Eric Massa. What is pretty hilarious about this is how he acts legitimately upset at the fact that the MSM is crooked. Hell, we have known about this for years.

Really Patrick, it is good to see a Democrat passionate about our troops but drooling and spitting all over the mic does very little to push your agenda. Instead it makes you look like a raving lunatic even when speaking the obvious.

The World According To Harry Reid: ”Only 36,000 people lost thier jobs today” (By Ballew)

Good news America only 36,000 people lost their jobs. It was quote “a big day in America”. Are you joking? What about those 36,000 people who lost their jobs?

This is the type of thinking that makes me wonder who and why anyone would vote Democrat. Reid, Pelosi, Obama should be working on fixing our unemployment epidemic, not a fake health care epidemic. While Americans are wondering when they will be put back to work people like Reid, Pelosi and Obama push an unpopular and pricey health care plan

I hope this is the nail in the coffin for Reid and his ilk although I doubt Democrats will change their stripes no matter how dirty this crop of Democrats do them. Let’s hope enough Independents and Conservatives step up to beat back this type of ridiculous thinking.

I think anyone who ever doubted Obama and his relationship with ACORN was lying to themselves. Here is a video showing Obama admitting “I’ve been always a partner with ACORN.” Now the question is whether or not ACORN is as corrupt as some say they are.

I Have no doubt in my mind had ACORN been a Conservative group in support of Bush not only would the left be screaming for an investigation of Bush, but also ACORN would be shut down with many of their leaders facing investigations.

In my opinion, this all shows the hypocrisy of the left and just what they think of our country. That said, I doubt anything happens to ACORN and Democrats will dismiss Obama’s past with the group as being inconsequential.

My question is really why is Obama and the Democrats not up front about their dealings with ACORN is there something to hide? Tell us the truth and then prove ACORN is innocent of whatever they are accused. Otherwise many will consider Obama and the Democrats dishonest. I think it is important that Americans find out whether or not a group our President associated with is or isn’t’ corrupt. Why not give us the truth on this. Remember a little truth will go a long way.
