Our elected leaders have lost their collective minds. That’s my opinion. They have become ignorant to the will of the people. It was made obvious with the lead head line on Drudge today: “DEM THREAT: SENATE CAN PASS HEALTHCARE WITH 51 VOTES”.
The linked article expounds upon the notion that the special election in Massachusetts could result in a Republican victory. And the problem is the Democrats are not paying attention to why.
The “Kennedy Seat” in Mass was one of those standing bastions of Democratic control. Elections in that state were never considered to be endangered. Teddy would hold that seat until he died. Indeed, it was thought that the seat would remain a Democrat seat forever.
But history may change come Tuesday. And while the current Health Care bill may not be the only issue on voters’ minds that morning, it cannot be denied that it is a factor. And that is why I think our elected leaders have lost their minds.
We have a controlling party that has been blasted this past year about the health care reform bills. Nothing that the democrats have proposed has been accepted [Continue...]

That’s the analogy Jim Kessler, the Vice President for policy with the non-profit think tank Third Way uses to describe the current “Cadillac Insurance plans” covering much of Middle America. Congress has targeted these plans, those that cost more than $23,000 a year, in the Health Care Reform bill. And the result isn’t going to be pretty for the middle class wage earners, or those with a Chevy paycheck.
With an estimated forty percent tax on these insurance plans, the handwriting is on the wall. The plans will disappear. The main reason they are available to the middle class is the tax breaks employers get for paying a large portion of the premiums. With that tax break gone, who do you think will have to pay for the difference? Not the employer. And with a higher premium, many middle class workers will have to give up these plans.
Don’t think this applies to you? Here’s a test. Look at your current pay stub. See how much you pay for insurance. Then add in what your employer pays per pay period. Multiply that by the number of pay periods in a year, and [Continue...]
By Gunner Kel, on October 25th, 2009 | 8:56 pm Recently my daughter’s boyfriend, we’ll call him Doug, made a trip from Columbus Indiana to Glasgow Montana. He was coming back to Montana after visiting his parents, to help us in an upcoming move.
His budget required him to make the trip by Amtrak, with a train change in Chicago. That’s Illinois. Barry Obama’s state. And a state with some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the nation.
As luck would have it, during his layover in Chicago, he was robbed. At gunpoint. In a city and state with very strict gun laws, this young man was robbed. At gunpoint. (Repeated for effect).
Reporting the “incident” to the police was an exercise in futility. The transit officer laughed a bit, and said he would take a report, but there was pretty much nothing they could do about it. He cautioned Doug to be more careful next time.
Amtrak does not allow firearms on its trains. Firearms are not permitted in the train stations. Gun control thus prevents the law abiding citizen from protecting himself. But as this true life example reveals, it does nothing to prevent the [Continue...]

“Despite the Main Stream Media” was added by me. The rest of it is the original headline from MSNBC. Similar headlines can be found on all news outlets, minus my editorial addition.
The real story here is not Van Jones’ resignation. Nor is it his ties with communist ideology. Nor his criminal record. It’s not about him calling conservatives a****les, or even his alignment with the “9/11 Truther” clowns. The real story is he has resigned, despite the MSM.
Fox News has a reputation in the liberal world of being a right wing propaganda machine. But reality is much different. I’m reminded of a quote, I’m not sure who said it (I know Spock said it on a Star Trek episode, but that’s not its origin): “In an insane society, only the sane appear insane.” When the Main Stream Media as a whole have their collective noses up Barry Obama’s butt, any outlet that attempts a fair and balanced showing is going to appear as a right wing news outlet. And the story of Van Jones is a good example.
Each and every allegation listed above has [Continue...]
By Gunner Kel, on August 18th, 2009 | 11:14 am At a protest rally outside a Town Hall meeting in Arizona, a man showed up with a rifle slung over his shoulder. He’s not the only one to show up with a weapon. Several other people were observed carrying side arms. Arizona is an Open Carry state. This means that a loaded weapon may be carried legally in public so long as it is clearly visible. To carry a concealed weapon, one must obtain a permit to do so. It is unknown if any or how many concealed weapons were present at this protest.
This has made quite a stir in the media, and of course the liberals and progressives are as usual whining, pissing, moaning, and complaining about it. They have had mush to say concerning this citizen and his decision to exercise his rights under State and Federal law.
First, let’s be clear. The Second Amendment, as recently affirmed by the Supreme Court, allows an individual right to keep and bare arms. Second, Arizona law allows for the open carry of such weapons. So this man and the others with visible weapons were completely within their rights and the boundaries of the law to carry said weapons at this rally. This has [Continue...]
By Gunner Kel, on August 6th, 2009 | 10:59 pm You are a “far right-wing ideologue recruited by paid organizers”. So says Margarida Jorge. And she should know.
She is an activist. Plain and simple. She’s a National Field Director for Health Care for America NOW! (HCAN). Prior to that, she was Organizing Director for Pro-Vote, the Missouri Progressive Vote Coalition. Pro-Vote lists as coalition partners: ACORN, ADA—Americans for Democratic Action (Missouri Chapter), NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri, MNEA Pac—Missouri National Educational Association Pac, and just about every Labor Union in the state of Missouri.
On their web page, there is a link to a page devoted to HCAN. And at the top of just about every page, is an invitation link to join their E-Activism list. They make no effort to hide the fact that they are activists.
The Web site for HCAN is just as interesting. Here is their “about us” statement:
“Health Care for America Now (HCAN) is a national grassroots campaign of more than 1,000 organizations in 46 states representing 30 million people dedicated to winning quality, affordable health care we all can count on in 2009. Our organization and principles are supported by President Obama, Vice President Biden, and more than 190 Members of Congress.”
Did you get that? Grass Roots. Halos above every head. Not a recruited ideologue. Just [Continue...]
