Today I heard a story of black America. It was the story of two friends, one black, the other white, with the black friend always making reference to racial problems and the great injustices endured by black America in cracker-land. Well, cracker-land is my terminology, but I can say it since I’m white.

The people in this story will remain anonymous. What is compelling though is the genuine nature of their friendship and their ability to discuss racial issues openly and honestly. The impression from my white friend is the black friend is living a life of total apathy. Blacks have had it so hard, that unless you are black, you will never know how hard they have had it.

Really? This is news to me. Does one need to be Daniel in the lions den to appreciate God’s mercy? Does one need to be a Jew to understand the holocaust?

So, to blacks-living-in-apathy everywhere, this is my letter to you.

Crutches Of My Ancestors

Dear black american,

America inherited the slavery problem.   We didn’t create it…. we abolished it.

Jamestown predated slavery in North America.   In 1607, 104 men landed in Virginia at a place they named Jamestown, marking the first permanent English settlement in North America.   These men sailed aboard three ships; Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery.  No blacks were among them.

Thirteen years later, 102 white settlers arrived at Plymouth Rock aboard the Mayflower.  They were fleeing institutionalized religious persecution at the hand of the Church of England.  Again, no blacks were among them.

The Pilgrims didn’t own slaves.

The first blacks didn’t arrive until 1619 aboard Dutch and English Privateer ships.  They were traded for food, and were subjected to limited servitude, along with white and indian servants, a legalized status imposed by England.   At the time, anyone who was poor could be placed into involuntary servitude (not just blacks).  Race-based slavery didn’t come about until the 1680’s.

Modern slavery predated America.  My pilgrim ancestors did not bring slavery to North America.

From that point in history, it took 200 years for a teaspoon full of determined blacks and a barrel full of determined whites to abolish slavery in America, at enormous costs.   This nation endured a civil war to make it happen.  100 years later, a barrel full of black Americans lead this nation through the civil rights movement.

Democrats were heavily pro-slavery, anti-civil rights, and wrote Jim Crow laws in the South.  Democrat governors forcibly enforced pro-segregation laws.

Nigga.  Yes, I said it.  Grow up and join the real world.  It’s OK for others to joke about your race.   The problem is, you have become so extremely sensitive about your race, that the only race jokes are told by you within your own group, and by everyone else outside of your group.   You have excluded yourself from normal human interaction.   Need examples?

Were you offended?   Odds are you were, since blacks are taught that ethnic slurs under any setting (outside of your own circle)  are a bad thing.   But most Asians were not offended.    Actress Anne-Marie Johnson took offense to the Silverman joke, and she is… you guessed it… black.

Here is another example of how blacks have excluded themselves from normal human interaction.   This dialogue is from the movie Gran Tornino;

Martin: That’ll be ten bucks, Walt.

Walt: 10 bucks? Jesus Christ! What are you, half Jew or something? You keep raising the prices.

There was a reason nobody in the Barber Shop scene was black (Jesse Jackson, Spike Lee, NAACP…). Without blacks in the scene we were able to see ‘real people’ interact about race. Did you hear the Polacks and Jews screaming about it the next day? No. (sorry)

Black America has put themselves into a box and nailed the lid shut.  The box is chained to racist organizations by name:  NAACP, BET, BlackNews.com, eBlackStudies Organization, the Internet Black pages, Black Career Women, Blacks In Government, Black Data Processing Associates, Congressional Black Caucus, Malcom X Institute For Black Studies, National Association Of Black Journalist, National Brotherhood Of (Black) Skiers, National Society Of Black Engineers, Organization Of Black Airline Pilots, Organization Of Black Designers, Union Of Black Episcopalians, United Negro College Fund… (to name just a few) Black this group, black that org, black this, black that….

Number of ‘White’ professional organizations by name:  zero.

You can continue to segregate yourselves from the very segregation your grandparents rallied and marched against.   Ironic that you would exchange one form of segregation for another of your own making.

As a white man who is routinely labeled a ‘racist’ by you for my political views, my support of Arizona’s law to enforce Federal Immigration Law, and for my support of the Tea Party movement, allow me to make one final point.   Have you, or any of your black friends adopted a child outside of your own race?    Is there a black Madonna or a black Angelina Jolie among you?   Have you ever considered using the term ’American-of African Descent’ instead of ‘African-American’ as a ethnic label?     Have you ever admired America for abolishing slavery?  Or for conquering pro-segregation southern democrats? Or for producing the greatest document of governance, our Constitution? To those that openly do (the few black conservatives) thank you. I admire your courage for enduring cries of ‘uncle tom’ from the black liberal left.

The great melting pot that is America will always be off kilter until you wake up and join the rest of us.  We’ll be waiting.   Until then, keep hobbling along on those pathetic crutches.  And please, take a tissue…

White Tissues For Black America

One day… with any luck that your children will leave your apathy behind…. America will be united in race, speaking as one, transparent in the blackness of newsprint and whiteness of newspaper.   Not afraid of words.  Able to laugh at a racial joke.  Able to get along as real men should.  When we are all one another’s brother.

Will that day ever happen in America?  Hard to imagine it ever will in the race-baiting society of what (once was) the land of the free and the home of the brave.  For in the words of one honest, hard working and respected black American…. ‘this ain’t America no more….”

Now you tell me.  If it ain’t America no more, then what is it?

In his capacity of the head of the Russian-Ukrainian project “Astrometria” on the Russian segment of the International Space Station, Habibullo Abdussamatov is conducting additional research to refine his prediction that a new Little Ice Age will begin in 2014.

In Part 2 of the video, Abdussamatov further explained that through 2014 the earth will go through a series of unstable variations in which global temperature will oscillate around the maximum reached in the years 1998-2005.

“Over the past decade, global temperature on the Earth has not increased; global warming has ceased, and already there are signs of the future deep temperature drop.”

Abdussamatov concluded Earth is no longer threatened by the catastrophic global warming forecast by some scientists, since warming passed its peak in 1998-2005.

During the color guard presentation of the American flag, a spectator yelled across the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, “Put your hand above your heart, Glover!”

The five-time Emmy nominee told The Salt Lake Tribune after the ceremony that he doesn’t typically cover his heart during flag ceremonies and he meant no disrespect.

“I was listening to the national anthem and paying attention,” he said. “I probably wasn’t the only one in there who didn’t put a hand over their heart.”

Danny is right.  He isn’t the only one who was never taught as a child to place his hand over his heart during the playing of our National Anthem when the flag is displayed.   Danny follows the tradition of a sitting President who practiced Muslim traditions in Muslim schools as a child, and who sat through 20 years of ‘God Dam America’ speeches from Reverend Wright.

Things were very different back then.

There were no lecture halls or dorm rooms, no athletic facilities or libraries.

The first campus was little more than a run-down frame house in desperate need of repairs.

The first class consisted of just a few students, some of whom could barely read at a first grade level.

Life was full of uncertainty for these students.

Think for a moment about those first students.

They arrived here at a time when newly freed people had few opportunities beyond taxation without representation, when oppressive “british codes” still limited their freedom, and terror and mob violence were facts of life.

They had been raised in a society that viewed them not as potential students, or professionals, or even citizens – but as subjects – unfit for, and undeserving of, an education.

But something inside of them rejected that notion.

Somehow, they were able to see beyond what they had been told.

Somehow, they held fast to their own vision of themselves – as scholars, as future teachers, as human beings with something worthy to contribute.

And that same defiant courage, that same spirit of self-determination, has fueled the success of countless students in every generation since.

And what would become of the signers who made this first college possible?

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons in the Revolutionary Army, another had two sons captured. Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or the hardships of the Revolutionary War.

People in the audience said they hope her appearance draws more attention to historically white colleges.

Students from across the country seek out this university because they want to attend a traditionally white college. The band has students from as far as California and Florida as well as neighboring states.

“She (Bush) is reaching out to a lot of states by doing this,” a college spokesman said.

Concord MA is heavily democrat, voting 62% for Martha Coakley during the senate election for ‘the peoples seat.’  So it really comes as no surprise that a heavily democrat area would do something this stupid.

Seldom have I accused people of being outright idiots.  But in this case I digress.     Concord MA is the armpit of liberal idiocy, the new environmentalist democrat idiot Capitol of the World.

These liberal environmentalist democrats are dismissing the value of recycling water bottles, and have placed the entire population of Concord at the mercy of government help in times of natural disaster, when tap water isn’t running freely.

And what about the law-abiding, tax-paying citizens of Concord who prefer their favorite bottled water over tap?     Is making them drive to another town good public policy?   Or is this just a ridiculous symbolic measure with punitive consequences?

The City of Concord dismisses Haiti relief efforts, where Fiji Water alone donated 136,000 liters of bottled water to help people in dire need of clean drinking water.    They also dismiss the hundreds of thousands of water bottles that were used during the 2004 Tsunami relief effort.   World-wide, PET water bottles are used every day to purify water through a process known as SODIS.     But none of this matters to the environmentalist democrat.

Apparently, everything is always pure in a democrat utopia.

As part of this extreme legislation, did the Concord City Council inform FEMA not to deliver any bottled water should Concord lose its tap water supply?   Of course not, because hypocrisy (and lunacy) rules the mind of a democrat.

This only adds credence to the rising belief that environmentalist have hijacked the democratic party.   A party that now frowns upon individual preparedness encouraging individuals to store bottled water at home in times of emergency.   ‘No need… you have tap.’

Their actions have no logical thought process, because when applied universally, Haitians would have been dying in droves due to water born diseases, as would many other people throughout the entire world.

Environmentalism is a disease in and of itself that offers no viable solutions beyond banning ‘your means’ to satisfy ‘their end,’ no matter how extreme:   Plastic bottles are bad for the planet, who cares if plastics are good for people, we must ban them to save the planet, who cares if banning them kills the people.

What is next, Concord?    Banning rubber tire sales?   Or would that be pushing your own symbolic hypocrisy too far, as if that is even remotely possible.

This was my first experience with Ich.   Our Red Wags were a new addition, so the disease most likely came with them, even though they looked healthy.   As I discovered, Ich is fairly common and can thrive in fresh water aquariums wreaking deadly havoc.   In my research of how to rid my tank of Ich, everything was telling me buy formalin treatment, raise the tank temperature, and increase aquarium salts.   All of this together would kill the parasite.

But I had another idea.   Formalin treatment doesn’t exist in the wild.   UV radiation does, in the form of sunlight.  And UV rays kill bacteria.   But would UV rays kill Ich?    I didn’t know.   The principle that UV radiation (natural direct sunlight) kills [Continue...]]]>

UV Rays Keep Me Alive!

TIS is a conservative political blog.  So what does a Ich Cure have to do with conservative politics?

Everything.

Last week my 11 gallon aquarium played host to Ich, a menacing white parasite that is very deadly and contagious to fish.   Almost overnight it claimed a Red Wag and a Blood Fin Tetra, and had coated another Red Wag struggling to survive.

This was my first experience with Ich.   Our Red Wags were a new addition, so the disease most likely came with them, even though they looked healthy.   As I discovered, Ich is fairly common and can thrive in fresh water aquariums wreaking deadly havoc.   In my research of how to rid my tank of Ich, everything was telling me buy formalin treatment, raise the tank temperature, and increase aquarium salts.   All of this together would kill the parasite.

But I had another idea.   Formalin treatment doesn’t exist in the wild.   UV radiation does, in the form of sunlight.  And UV rays kill bacteria.   But would UV rays kill Ich?    I didn’t know.   The principle that UV radiation (natural direct sunlight) kills pathogens and bacteria is well documented.   SODIS (Solar H2O Disinfection) is a free and effective process for treating water in many third world countries making contaminated water safe to drink.

Would SODIS kill parasites?    I was determined to find out, and so were my fish.

So I cut the top off a clear plastic one gallon water bottle (PET), filled it with clean water, added 1 tbs aquarium salt, and placed my fish inside.  Next, I placed the fish outside in direct sunlight and let them sit all day (outside temp 75 degrees).  After 6 hours of direct light, the white spots on their scales had started to break away.  The fish were getting more active.  So I changed the water and repeated the process the next day (outside temp 84 degrees).  By the end of the second day there were no visible traces of Ich, and the fish were active.  UV radiation had killed the Ich.

During this time the filter, tank and its contents were cleaned thoroughly with boiling water (no soaps!) and refilled with fresh water.    1 tbs of aquarium salt was added per gallon of water.   And a UV light to prevent future outbreaks.

Now for the political moral to the story…

We live in a dynamic planet, where mother earth creates its own diseases and its own cures.   When man messes up the natural order of things, as my aquarium did for my fish, the first reaction of man is to produce a cure (Ich medication) so that people will buy into the fallacy of a static fix.

Compare that to Cap & Tax.   Man needs to convince us that government holds the cure for global warming.  If we don’t buy in, the polar ice caps will melt and rising sea levels will submerge coastal cities and our homes.  They want us to forget this occurs naturally.

Sea levels rise and fall all the time, weather and plant life cleans our air, dirt and gravel purifies water, C02 is good for green plant life, and natural sunlight kills Ich.    Just a few examples of naturally occurring dynamic solutions that steadily renew and heal our planet.
