"I thought when we elected a black president, we were going to get a black president. You know, this [BP oil spill] is where I want a real black president. I want him in a meeting with the BP CEOs, you know, where he lifts up his shirt where you can see the gun in his pants. That's -- (in black man voice) we've got a 'motherfu**ing problem here?' Shoot somebody in the foot."

Dang Joe you could have at least joked back about why you won’t lower taxes. Hell, for free frozen yogurt one would think he would at least acknowledge the manager. This behavior is expected of the caring left. This one goes out to Max Venom for giving me heads up on Joe’s trip to the Custard stands.
If President Barack Obama thought having a private lunch with Republican senators would ease partisan tensions in Congress, he grabbed the wrong recipe.
The president walked into a remarkably contentious 80-minute session Tuesday in which GOP senators accused him of duplicity, audacity and unbending partisanship. Lawmakers said the testy exchange left legislative logjams intact, and one GOP leader said nothing is likely to change before the November elections.
This is nuts.
Barack Obama lectured (fellow) socialist Prime Minister Jose Luis Zapatero of Spain today on reining in the country’s debt. This comes from the same man who just tripled the US national deficit in less than one year.
US President Barack Obama spoke to Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero Tuesday on the debt crisis and discussed reforms needed to rescue the Spanish economy, the White House said.
The conversation was the latest move by Obama in the European crisis, and White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Washington would do whatever was needed to stop the eurozone turmoil from stifling the US recovery.
The leaders “discussed the importance of Spain taking resolute action as part of Europe’s effort to strengthen its economy and build market confidence,” Gibbs said in a statement.
“The president expressed the support of the United States for those efforts. The president also conveyed his best wishes to King Juan Carlos for a speedy recovery from his recent surgery.”
GM CEO Ed Whitacre announced in a Wall Street Journal column Wednesday that his company has paid back its government bailout loan “in full, with interest, years ahead of schedule.” He is even running TV ads on all major networks to that effect–a needless expense given that a credulous media is only too happy to parrot his claims for free. Detroit Free Press’ Mike Thompson, for example, advises bailout proponents to start “warming up their vocal chords” to jeer their opponents with chants of “I told you so.”
But before belting out their victory aria, GM-boosters ought to hear the whole story–not just the fairytale version about Government Motors’ grand comeback that Mr. Whitacre is feeding them.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) accused Republicans of being “anti-American” by demanding changes to a Wall Street regulation bill before it’s debated openly on the Senate floor.
Speaking to reporters just before the Democrats’ third attempt to break a GOP filibuster on the issue, Reid said that Republicans “keep stalling, keep stalling.” He charged Republicans with trying to pick apart the bill before it even comes to the floor where both sides could offer amendments and openly debate the measure.
DEMOCRATS HID DAMNING HEALTH CARE REPORT FROM PUBLIC UNTIL A MONTH AFTER VOTE
More hope and change–
A damning health care report generated by actuaries at the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department was given to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius more than a week before the health care vote. She hid the report from the public until a month after democrats rammed their nationalized health care bill through Congress.
There has been a monsoon in Timbale. Anna, leader of the Visitors, intercedes with her technology. Questioned off the record, the Secretary General of the U.N. accuses Anna of “playing politics with tragedy. She used the people of Timbale to gain public and political clout.”
“You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”
