Stock up on your thermal underwear. The Head of Space Research at St. Petersburg, Russia, is predicting the dawn of a new Ice Age.
In his capacity of the head of the Russian-Ukrainian project “Astrometria” on the Russian segment of the International Space Station, Habibullo Abdussamatov is conducting additional research to refine his prediction that a new Little Ice Age will begin in 2014.
“If the Astrometria project is developed in time,” Abdussamatov said, “we will be able to develop a more precise forecast of the duration and the depth of the approaching new Little Ice Age and to understand the reasons of cyclical changes taking place in the interior of the sun and the ways they affect the Earth and various scopes of human activity.”
Abdussamatov’s theory is that “long-term variations in the amount of solar energy reaching the Earth are the main and principal reasons driving and defining the whole mechanism of climatic changes from the global warmings to the Little Ice Ages to the big glacial periods.”
In his speech’s conclusion, Abdussamatov took on advocates of the theory of man-caused warming who want to diminish human use of hydrocarbon fuels. He contended, instead, that a reasonable way to combat coming cooling trends would be “to maintain economic growth in order to adapt to the upcoming new Little Ice Age in the middle of the 21st century.”
In 2003-2005, Abdussamatov predicted a reduction of sunspot activity that would reach a new minimum in 2042, resulting in a deep global temperature minimum in the years 2055-2060.
“My predictions are looking better and better with each passing year,” Abdussamatov declared.
In Part 2 of the video, Abdussamatov further explained that through 2014 the earth will go through a series of unstable variations in which global temperature will oscillate around the maximum reached in the years 1998-2005.
“Over the past decade, global temperature on the Earth has not increased; global warming has ceased, and already there are signs of the future deep temperature drop.”
Abdussamatov concluded Earth is no longer threatened by the catastrophic global warming forecast by some scientists, since warming passed its peak in 1998-2005.
Last winter rewrote the record books in the South and mid-Atlantic states, all of the records being for cold and snow.
During the first two weeks of 2010, a record long and deep cold wave invaded Florida — the longest and coldest penetration of Arctic air into Florida since 1940. West Palm Beach had an average low of 39 degrees.
In February, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia were buried under record amounts of snow. The federal government was paralyzed for days under 50 inches of snowfall in just a week.
Another storm closed schools and highways in Dallas, where a foot of snow in 24 hours set the local record.
Facing what many scientists say is the sixth mass extinction in half-a-billion years, our planet urgently needs a “bailout plan” to protect its biodiversity, a top conservation group said Thursday.
“If we don’t come up with a big plan now, the planet will not survive.”
TIS is a conservative political blog. So what does a Ich Cure have to do with conservative politics?
Everything.
Last week my 11 gallon aquarium played host to Ich, a menacing white parasite that is very deadly and contagious to fish. Almost overnight it claimed a Red Wag and a Blood Fin Tetra, and had coated another Red Wag struggling to survive.
This was my first experience with Ich. Our Red Wags were a new addition, so the disease most likely came with them, even though they looked healthy. As I discovered, Ich is fairly common and can thrive in fresh water aquariums wreaking deadly havoc. In my research of how to rid my tank of Ich, everything was telling me buy formalin treatment, raise the tank temperature, and increase aquarium salts. All of this together would kill the parasite.
But I had another idea. Formalin treatment doesn’t exist in the wild. UV radiation does, in the form of sunlight. And UV rays kill bacteria. But would UV rays kill Ich? I didn’t know. The principle that UV radiation (natural direct sunlight) kills pathogens and bacteria is well documented. SODIS (Solar H2O Disinfection) is a free and effective process for treating water in many third world countries making contaminated water safe to drink.
Would SODIS kill parasites? I was determined to find out, and so were my fish.
So I cut the top off a clear plastic one gallon water bottle (PET), filled it with clean water, added 1 tbs aquarium salt, and placed my fish inside. Next, I placed the fish outside in direct sunlight and let them sit all day (outside temp 75 degrees). After 6 hours of direct light, the white spots on their scales had started to break away. The fish were getting more active. So I changed the water and repeated the process the next day (outside temp 84 degrees). By the end of the second day there were no visible traces of Ich, and the fish were active. UV radiation had killed the Ich.
During this time the filter, tank and its contents were cleaned thoroughly with boiling water (no soaps!) and refilled with fresh water. 1 tbs of aquarium salt was added per gallon of water. And a UV light to prevent future outbreaks.
Now for the political moral to the story…
We live in a dynamic planet, where mother earth creates its own diseases and its own cures. When man messes up the natural order of things, as my aquarium did for my fish, the first reaction of man is to produce a cure (Ich medication) so that people will buy into the fallacy of a static fix.
Compare that to Cap & Tax. Man needs to convince us that government holds the cure for global warming. If we don’t buy in, the polar ice caps will melt and rising sea levels will submerge coastal cities and our homes. They want us to forget this occurs naturally.
Sea levels rise and fall all the time, weather and plant life cleans our air, dirt and gravel purifies water, C02 is good for green plant life, and natural sunlight kills Ich. Just a few examples of naturally occurring dynamic solutions that steadily renew and heal our planet.

SEATTLE – When a driver hits the brakes, friction releases copper shavings that fall onto the road and are eventually washed into rivers, where environmentalists say the metal could pose a hazard to marine life — especially salmon, one of the Pacific Northwest’s most prized products. Washington state responded to the problem last month by becoming the first in the nation to pass a law to phase out the use of copper in brake pads. The move could eventually make copper-free pads the industry standard in the U.S.
“I think this does go a long way toward eliminating a very toxic item in our marine environment,” said state Sen. Kevin Ranker, who sponsored the bill. (Ranker is a Democrat)
“It doesn’t take a lot of copper to interfere with the salmon’s sense of smell,” said Nat Scholz, a research zoologist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration who has contributed to studies on the subject.
TIS investigates the larger problem of evil car companies that are polluting our environment and endangering ecosystems;
Rubber tires contain chemical by-products that are known environmental pollutants. Tire rubber also contains hazardous sulfur and zinc compounds that are used to speed up the rubber-making process. All that rubber that gets worn off your tires has to go somewhere. And a lot of it winds up in lakes, streams, rivers, and fine particulate matter pollutes the air and can wind up in your lungs. Rubber tires are products of evil car companies.
According to the EPA, people who live within 300 feet of a major road incur greater health risks than other people do. EPA pilot program study. And haven’t we been programed to believe road side pollution is a by product of evil car companies?
Lead batteries not only release harmful lead into the environment during the manufacturing and recycling process, but also during normal everyday use. The amount of lead in cars presents a serious hazard on human health, fishes, animals, and ecosystems. Lead poisoning is one of the most serious environmental hazards on planet earth. Batteries are used by evil car companies. And batteries are GREEN. Proof that the federal government is increasing the amount of lead exposure in order to dumb down the population further than we already are.
TIS investigators also discovered that automobile plastics, metals, fluids, cleaners, paints, fabrics, polishes, chrome plating, air bag systems, gases, and human occupants are major sources of pollution within the environment that contain (or produce) deadly chemicals or gases that are harmful to the environment, and may even be responsible for the collapse of bee colonies located within 300 feet of major roads. All promoted by evil car companies, who through addictive subliminal advertising, convinced everyone to buy a car.
But all of these combined dwarf the massive problem of copper in brakes. Copper can mess with a salmons sense of smell. And if you really want to know what that feels like, try frying a salmon for dinner until your nose crinkles.
