While Washington Dithers (A Challenge To All Voters)

while-washington-dithers-a-challenge-to-all-voters

On any given day turn in the TV, radio, or open a newspaper and we are constantly bombarded with politicians and pundits giving their 2 cents on the situation America finds itself in. These people, who have diverse ideas of what the ideal America is, spewing the same B/S rhetoric all the while living in a world many of us could only dream of. I see it everyday as these “important” people play the blame game as the good people lose their jobs and homes.

As I watch I wonder what these people are truly thinking. Do they care? Are they doing all they can to fix this mess they “inherited’? The more I wonder the more I realize most of these people could care less about you or me. In fact, I would wager that if you didn’t vote for them or hold a different view politically they care even less.

Why should they care most I am sure have not dealt with the life many of us face. You know the life, wondering where the next rent or mortgage payment is going to come from. Or days spent waiting in the unemployment or welfare office to be seen. Or having to sell a cherished item to ensure they could pay the rent or buy some food for the family?

Have they had their kids ask them “when are we moving into our own house”. Watched as the tears streamed down the faces of their family as they pulled out the last of the boxes from the house they where evicted from? Waited for assistance at a local facility only to be turned away do to the overwhelming response of needy people.

Sadly, from my point of view our elected officials do not see our side. Sure they might have had hardships in life but it also seems these people far removed from those hardships and what many Americans are going through. They do not and cannot understand the life many have been forced to live do to this “inherited mess” left by administrations past. They seem to instead use their time fighting and bickering amongst one another. Living it up down in D.C. as you and I are forced to feel the whole brunt of the mess we all have “inherited”.

Americans need to wake up to where we are heading while Washington dithers. While Washington dithers many of us are unemployed. While Washington dither more and more people are losing their unemployment benefits. While Washington dithers more and more families are losing their homes. While Washington dithers you and I being made the fools.

My challenge to everyone is this. Instead of voting for the party vote for the person. Check the job performance of the incumbents or the platform of the challengers. Look at all the candidates stand for not just the stuff that is shoved in our faces via the media. For once try and vote for substance/and performance instead of voting for the “D”, “R”, or “I” behind the name. Become aware of the people we put into Washington to much is at stake not to. We need people who care and will do what is right in Washington, not people only concerned about winning the next election. As a recently evicted and unemployed American I’ll remember this come November, will you?

A White Letter To Black America

Crutches Of My Ancestors

Crutches Of My Ancestors

Today I heard a story of black America. It was the story of two friends, one black, the other white, with the black friend always making reference to racial problems and the great injustices endured by black America in cracker-land. Well, cracker-land is my terminology, but I can say it since I’m white.

The people in this story will remain anonymous. What is compelling though is the genuine nature of their friendship and their ability to discuss racial issues openly and honestly. The impression from my white friend is the black friend is living a life of total apathy. Blacks have had it so hard, that unless you are black, you will never know how hard they have had it.

Really? This is news to me. Does one need to be Daniel in the lions den to appreciate God’s mercy? Does one need to be a Jew to understand the holocaust?

So, to blacks-living-in-apathy everywhere, this is my letter to you.

Dear black american,

America inherited the slavery problem. We didn’t create it…. we abolished it.

Jamestown predated slavery in North America. In 1607, 104 men landed in Virginia at a place they named Jamestown, marking the first permanent English settlement in North America. These men sailed aboard three ships; Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery. No blacks were among them.

Thirteen years later, 102 white settlers arrived at Plymouth Rock aboard the Mayflower. They were fleeing institutionalized religious persecution at the hand of the Church of England. Again, no blacks were among them.

The Pilgrims didn’t own slaves.

The first blacks didn’t arrive until 1619 aboard Dutch and English Privateer ships. They were traded for food, and were subjected to limited servitude, along with white and indian servants, a legalized status imposed by England. At the time, anyone who was poor could be placed into involuntary servitude (not just blacks). Race-based slavery didn’t come about until the 1680’s.

Modern slavery predated America. My pilgrim ancestors did not bring slavery to North America.

From that point in history, it took 200 years for a teaspoon full of determined blacks and a barrel full of determined whites to abolish slavery in America, at enormous costs. This nation endured a civil war to make it happen. 100 years later, a barrel full of black Americans lead this nation through the civil rights movement.

Democrats were heavily pro-slavery, anti-civil rights, and wrote Jim Crow laws in the South. Democrat governors forcibly enforced pro-segregation laws.

Nigga. Yes, I said it. Grow up and join the real world. It’s OK for others to joke about your race. The problem is, you have become so extremely sensitive about your race, that the only race jokes are told by you within your own group, and by everyone else outside of your group. You have excluded yourself from normal human interaction. Need examples?

Listen to Sarah Silverman….

Were you offended? Odds are you were, since blacks are taught that ethnic slurs under any setting (outside of your own circle) are a bad thing. But most Asians were not offended. Actress Anne-Marie Johnson took offense to the Silverman joke, and she is… you guessed it… black.

Here is another example of how blacks have excluded themselves from normal human interaction.   This dialogue is from the movie Gran Tornino;

Martin: That’ll be ten bucks, Walt.

Walt: 10 bucks? Jesus Christ! What are you, half Jew or something? You keep raising the prices.

Martin: It’s been 10 bucks the last 5 years, you hard-nosed, cheap, Polack son of a bitch.

(Watch it here)

There was a reason nobody in the Barber Shop scene was black (Jesse Jackson, Spike Lee, NAACP…). Without blacks in the scene we were able to see ‘real people’ interact about race. Did you hear the Polacks and Jews screaming about it the next day? No. (sorry)

Black America has put themselves into a box and nailed the lid shut. The box is chained to racist organizations by name: NAACP, BET, BlackNews.com, eBlackStudies Organization, the Internet Black pages, Black Career Women, Blacks In Government, Black Data Processing Associates, Congressional Black Caucus, Malcom X Institute For Black Studies, National Association Of Black Journalist, National Brotherhood Of (Black) Skiers, National Society Of Black Engineers, Organization Of Black Airline Pilots, Organization Of Black Designers, Union Of Black Episcopalians, United Negro College Fund… (to name just a few) Black this group, black that org, black this, black that….

Number of ‘White’ professional organizations by name: zero.

You can continue to segregate yourselves from the very segregation your grandparents rallied and marched against. Ironic that you would exchange one form of segregation for another of your own making.

As a white man who is routinely labeled a ‘racist’ by you for my political views, my support of Arizona’s law to enforce Federal Immigration Law, and for my support of the Tea Party movement, allow me to make one final point. Have you, or any of your black friends adopted a child outside of your own race? Is there a black Madonna or a black Angelina Jolie among you? Have you ever considered using the term ’American-of African Descent’ instead of ‘African-American’ as a ethnic label? Have you ever admired America for abolishing slavery? Or for conquering pro-segregation southern democrats? Or for producing the greatest document of governance, our Constitution? To those that openly do (the few black conservatives) thank you. I admire your courage for enduring cries of ‘uncle tom’ from the black liberal left.

The great melting pot that is America will always be off kilter until you wake up and join the rest of us. We’ll be waiting. Until then, keep hobbling along on those pathetic crutches. And please, take a tissue…

White Tissues For Black America

White Tissues For Black America

One day… with any luck that your children will leave your apathy behind…. America will be united in race, speaking as one, transparent in the blackness of newsprint and whiteness of newspaper. Not afraid of words. Able to laugh at a racial joke. Able to get along as real men should. When we are all one another’s brother.

Will that day ever happen in America? Hard to imagine it ever will in the race-baiting society of what (once was) the land of the free and the home of the brave. For in the words of one honest, hard working and respected black American…. ‘this ain’t America no more….”

Now you tell me. If it ain’t America no more, then what is it?

Tom McClintock: “E Pluribus Unum” - A Response to President Calderon (transcript)

From 5/20/2010 speech on floor of Congress:

M. Speaker:

I rise to take strong exception to the speech of the President of Mexico while in this chamber today.

The Mexican government has made it very clear for many years that it holds American sovereignty in contempt and President Calderon’s behavior as a guest of the Congress confirms and underscores this attitude.

It is highly inappropriate for the President of Mexico to lecture Americans on American immigration policy, just as it would be for Americans to lecture Mexico on its laws.

It is obvious that President Calderon does not understand the nature of America or the purpose of our immigration law.

Unlike Mexico’s immigration law — which is brutally exclusionary — the purpose of America’s law is not to keep people out. It is to assure that as people come to the United States, they do so with the intention of becoming Americans and of raising their children as Americans.

Unlike Mexico, our nation embraces immigration and what makes that possible is assimilation.

A century ago President Teddy Roosevelt put it this way. He said:

“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language … and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”

That is how we have built one great nation from the people of all the nations of the world.

The largest group of immigrants now comes from Mexico. A recent RAND study discovered that during most of the 20th Century, while our immigration laws were actually enforced, assimilation worked and made possible the swift attainment of the American dream for millions of immigrants seeking to escape conditions in Mexico.

That is the broader meaning of our nation’s motto, “E Pluribus Unum” – from many people, one people, the American people.

But there is now an element in our political structure that seeks to undermine that concept of “E Pluribus Unum.” It seeks to hyphenate Americans, to develop linguistic divisions, to assign rights and preferences based on race and ethnicity, and to elevate devotion to foreign ideologies and traditions, while at the same time denigrating American culture, American values and American founding principles.

In order to do so, they know that they have to stop the process of assimilation. In order to do that, they must undermine our immigration laws.

It is an outrage that a foreign head of state would appear in this chamber and actively seek to do so. And it is a disgrace that he would be cheered on from the left wing of the White House and by many Democrats in this Congress.

Arizona has not adopted a new immigration law. All it has done is to enforce existing law that President Obama refuses to enforce. It is hardly a radical policy to suggest that if an officer on a routine traffic stop encounters a driver with no driver’s license, no passport, and who doesn’t speak English, that maybe that individual might be here illegally.

And to those who say we must reform our immigration laws – I reply that we don’t need to reform them – we need to enforce them. Just as every other government does. Just as Mexico does.

Above all, this is a debate of, by and for the American people. If President Calderon wishes to participate in that debate, I invite him to obey our immigration laws, apply for citizenship, do what 600,000 LEGAL immigrants to our nation are doing right now, learn our history and our customs, and become an American. And then he will have every right to participate in that debate.

Until then, I would politely invite him to have the courtesy while a guest of this Congress to abide by the fundamental rules of diplomacy between civilized nations not to meddle in each other’s domestic debates.

Nation Waits For VP To Ask Unknown Soldier To Stand Up And Take A Bow

nation-waits-for-vp-to-ask-unknown-soldier-to-stand-up-and-take-a-bow

Thanks to Leftist activists and anti-Semites (is that redundant?), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had to beat President Obama to the snub this week and cancel a White House appearance in order to address an armed conflict. Apparently, Netanyahu is more concerned about Palestinian terrorist sympathizers in the West Bank than he is about Palestinian terrorist sympathizers in Washington.

The good news is that this should free up some time for Obama to meet with Arizona governor Jan Brewer to discuss strategy on dealing with a potential Democrat voting bloc: illegal aliens. The Obama White House, while wringing it’s hands over the possibility that people might use the Arizona law to question why the feds aren’t enforcing theirs, couldn’t put aside an hour of time to meet with Brewer to discuss this controversy.

Apparently, everyone in the administration is too busy scrambling to read the ten page law that they already condemned.

With Obama touting his busy schedule, perhaps the country’s best investigative journalists (AKA James O’Keefe disguised as a caddy) can report on just how many golf games Obama squeezes in this week.

Obama was even too busy to attend the ceremony at Arlington National, instead opting to send his stand-up stand-in, Joe ‘Leave ‘em Laughing’ Biden, to place the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

I understand that it’s not mandatory for a president to attend this sacred rite but let’s put it in perspective. Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush didn’t attend these events religiously (Bush reportedly didn’t attend any in his four year term).

The difference of course is that the military loved and respected these leaders. Reagan aimed to shave the military of its Vietnam-five-o’clock-shadow and Bush was a war hero who led a brilliant military campaign against Saddam Hussein.

http://i47.tinypic.com/b5lk08.jpg

Flash forward and today we have a Leftist president with a history of being on the wrong side of America’s foreign policy, including his own. Obama has done little to instill confidence and devotion to the nation’s defenders. The Fort Hood massacre saw a detached and canned response from it’s Commander-in-Chief. The Iraq War has been over since Obama was declared the president-elect in November 2008. The Afghanistan War displayed the Obama Revolving Door policy of winning a war where soldiers are sent on a round trip vacation with no goals but the promise of getting shot at.

Incidentally, Obama’s favorite soldiers are robots that drop bombs from overhead. The president is scheduled to place a wreath at the Chicago Sci-Fi convention later today.

Whoever is running Obama’s PR machine should be tried for treason. No one could accidentally make the president look this obtuse when it comes to our soldiers. But I’ll give credit where credit is due – Vice President Biden was able to walk on stage, place his hand on his heart, stand….and walk off stage without embarrassing himself or those around him. Good job, Joe!

Joe Biden really stepped up to the plate here after it became clear that the president would not and after Joe Sestak apparently turned down the offer to conduct the ceremony himself in exchange for dropping out of the Pennsylvania senate race.

God bless those who serve, those who have served and those who are never coming home.

HEROES UNAWARE

God Bless

God Bless

I first saw him on a park bench
I’ve seen him every day
Sitting in a shady grove
Where my children come to play
Sometimes he feeds the birds and squirrels
Or whittles little toys
Sometimes he just sits and smiles
At the laughing girls and boys
And I never paid him any mind
‘Till one day just this year
I noticed that he wore a frown
And on his cheek … a tear.

Well I asked him why he seemed so down
He looked up, began to say
I lost half my friends 60 years ago today
He told me of the terror
As he fought to reach dry land
By the time the beachhead was secure
Half his friends lay in the sand

That was just in one long day
He fought on for 4 years more
And the 60 years from then to now
Have not dimmed His sights of war

He said they have reunions
Just to keep in touch and share
And for each comrade who has gone on
They leave an empty chair

Well, His park bench has been empty now
About 6 months or so
And if I’d never took the time
Then I never would’ve known
That sitting on that simple bench
With bread crumbs and little toys
Was a man who gave his all
To guarantee my daily joys

So give thanks to all the men and women
Who’re still here or have gone before
And made the highest sacrifice
In both Peace time and in War
Because they bought our freedom
Paid their own blood, sweat, and tears
Then endured the heartache of those empty chairs
For all these years

So please do not ignore them
Or speed by without a care
‘Cause you never know
When you might pass by
A hero, unaware

Note by the poet: “The old man in this story is an amalgam of my grandfather who used to sit in a chair behind his house and tell me stories of WWI after I came in from the fields at the end of the day. He was mustard-gassed there, fighting with modern weapons, but using mules. Of Noris Tanton, of Commerce Texas, who barely made it off the ship with his life at Pearl Harbor, December 7th, 1941. And all the other WWII survivors I have talked to throughout the years. My father-in-law, James Rowse of Wolfe City Texas, who, even though he fought in Korea, graciously considers me a Comrade in Arms because of my Naval Submarine service over the last 18 years. Lowell Clemens, Jim Sullivan, and all the other Viet Nam Vets who I have had the privilege of knowing and serving with. And lastly, all the people like Barry Shay, Thomas Galliher, Mark Heithaus, Patrick Rourk, Marv Mumblo, Chip Green, Chip Sumner, Tony Zilar and the list goes on, that I have served with on Submarines and Surface Ships, with the Marines, in clinics, Hospitals and school for all these years of turbulent peace.

My heroes Unaware.” — Mark A. Wright, HMC(SS) – 6/22/2000

Top Scientist: New Ice Age To Begin In 2014

Stock up on your thermal underwear. The Head of Space Research at St. Petersburg, Russia, is predicting the dawn of a new Ice Age.

In his capacity of the head of the Russian-Ukrainian project “Astrometria” on the Russian segment of the International Space Station, Habibullo Abdussamatov is conducting additional research to refine his prediction that a new Little Ice Age will begin in 2014.

“If the Astrometria project is developed in time,” Abdussamatov said, “we will be able to develop a more precise forecast of the duration and the depth of the approaching new Little Ice Age and to understand the reasons of cyclical changes taking place in the interior of the sun and the ways they affect the Earth and various scopes of human activity.”

Abdussamatov’s theory is that “long-term variations in the amount of solar energy reaching the Earth are the main and principal reasons driving and defining the whole mechanism of climatic changes from the global warmings to the Little Ice Ages to the big glacial periods.”

In his speech’s conclusion, Abdussamatov took on advocates of the theory of man-caused warming who want to diminish human use of hydrocarbon fuels. He contended, instead, that a reasonable way to combat coming cooling trends would be “to maintain economic growth in order to adapt to the upcoming new Little Ice Age in the middle of the 21st century.”

In 2003-2005, Abdussamatov predicted a reduction of sunspot activity that would reach a new minimum in 2042, resulting in a deep global temperature minimum in the years 2055-2060.

“My predictions are looking better and better with each passing year,” Abdussamatov declared.

In Part 2 of the video, Abdussamatov further explained that through 2014 the earth will go through a series of unstable variations in which global temperature will oscillate around the maximum reached in the years 1998-2005.

“Over the past decade, global temperature on the Earth has not increased; global warming has ceased, and already there are signs of the future deep temperature drop.”

Abdussamatov concluded Earth is no longer threatened by the catastrophic global warming forecast by some scientists, since warming passed its peak in 1998-2005.
